As an extremely important cut-off valve, the sealing of the globe valve is achieved by applying torque to the valve stem, and the valve stem applies pressure to the valve disc in the axial direction, making the sealing surface of the valve disc and the sealing surface of the valve seat tightly fit, preventing the leakage of the medium along the gap between the sealing surfaces.

The opening and closing part of the globe valve, or stop valve, is a plug-shaped disc with a flat surface or a cone on the sealing surface, and the disc moves linearly along the center line of the valve seat. It can be used to control various types of fluids such as air, water, steam, various corrosive media, mud, oil, liquid metal, and radioactive media.
